Launched by award-winning film-maker and pioneering documentary producer Emma Cooper, Empress is founded on the principles of documentary story-telling. Empress works cross genre - operating across both non-fiction and fiction - to find the most emotionally honest ways of telling unforgettable stories.
Empress's latest projects include the three-part-series Who Killed Jill Dando? (Netflix, Top 10 for 2 weeks), Depp V. Heard (Netflix/C4, No.1 in 88 countries), The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes (Netflix, No.1), BAFTA-winning Short-Documentary The Black Cop (BFI, Doc Society, Guardian Docs), DIANA (CNN), Ghislaine Maxwell: Epstein's Shadow (SKY).
Having been founded in 2020, Empress's most recent work includes the series ‘Epstein's Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell' (Peacock and Sky) 'DIANA' (CNN Original Documentaries) ‘The Black Cop’ (Guardian Documentaries) with other titles airing across platforms and streamers in 2022/23.

Emma most recently EP’d 8 part series on 'The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann' which was the most watched programme on Netflix in the UK in 2019. And the Netflix feature 'Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator' which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in 2019.
